Why does the router work fine in bridge, but not in pppoe?

Good day!
There was a problem with the NETGEAR JDGN1000 router.
The problem is that when you turn on the PPPoE mode, the router does not want to work normally, namely, it disconnects the connection and turns on only after a reboot, and then not for a long time (for 5 minutes and again the same procedure).
BUT! If I set the bridge mode, then the router works very well.
Tell me how to be?
Ps Another question - there is a second router (not adsl), what if you connect it to the first one and distribute wifi from it?

So what is your connection to the provider - bridged or pppoe?
Or do you get both at the same time?
Usually, you can distribute WiFi with the second router, it is configured in bridge mode, the main router continues to distribute addresses, in the second it only gives access to wireless clients to the network of the first.

It's most likely a firmware issue. You can try updating to the latest.

Perhaps it's overheating. Open it, if you don't mind, and feel the Biggest Chip.
