Why does the router often break in pptp_eth2.5_0?

Hello, about a few times a day, the computer loses its connection to the Internet, and in the status of the router control panel, the MAC address, all data, all ip are lost in the name pptp_eth2.5_0. Then after a minute everything is located and the network turns on. At the same time, Wi-Fi is not lost, but the Internet is simply not available, the network is hidden, I connect to the provider via vpn. I thought it was overheating like that, but is pptp_eth a cable? Well, I opened the lid of the router, in general, nothing overheats like that, I even put a cooler on it, but the problem did not go away. Sometimes this happens during a long download from a torrent, sometimes spontaneously, how do I turn on music on YouTube, where the speed is generally optimized and the files are small, so it’s not entirely clear, maybe you know what from this description? Has anyone experienced this or knows where the problem is? ps Could it be a matter of his operating system? It seems that it sometimes “clogs up” from a large amount of transmitted information, but it doesn’t sound very logical, although the hardware is old, but this didn’t happen before, and I wrote above about overheating.

Well, if we exclude the problem on the part of the provider, then it remains:
1) The cable is the most likely option, judging by the symptoms
2) Perhaps your router is attacked in the provider's network and it does not withstand
3) The router contains firmware, often there are logs in the router, and in the firmware errors. Perhaps something is overflowing.
The router cannot work forever, the best way is to change it completely, or temporarily, to eliminate the first two points.
