Why does the modem turn off by itself?
Hello. Maybe I'm wrong site, but I hope for your help.
In short, I have a 4G modem, it is connected to a laptop via a USB extension cable, and it turns off most likely due to a lack of power. And so the idea was born. If I disable one USB port that I do not use on a laptop, will the problem be fixed, or if the USB port is not used, then it does not need power anyway?

If the modem does not turn off without an extension cable, then the laptop is supplying enough power to the port and the problem is in the passive extension cable.
If the modem without an extension cord also turns off, turning off other devices may help, or it may not.
