Why does the MacBook Air 2019 get very hot under minimal loads?
Nothing is installed on the laptop, except for the iStat Menus program. The support service asked what the temperature was in the room where the laptop was. I don’t hold on my knees, on the bed too. When watching a video on the Internet, rapid heating to 80+ degrees begins. When turned on, the temperature is 70, then it drops to 35-40, then it rises and stays from 40 to 50. This temperature is when writing texts, making presentations. Today, when viewing ordinary pictures in Yandex, the laptop made noise and again heated up to 80 degrees, then cooled down. Bought a laptop in August. I understand that macbooks do not have ventilation holes and all the heat goes to heat the case. But I see how people keep laptops on their knees, on pillows, install a bunch of programs and calmly watch videos, there are no problems with temperature. I really don't want so that one day the laptop just burned out. What else can be checked? Or is it normal that a MacBook becomes like an oven without any special loads? Thank you!

It heats up because the processor generates heat. Because the processor is running.
According to Apple Support, don't keep your laptop on the bed or on your feet.
Try disabling Turboboost for a while while working with your laptop - https://www.rugarciap.com/turbo-boost-switcher-for...
Surprisingly, no one wrote about the "innovative" design of the cooling system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiCBYAP_Sgg&featur...
In general, in the new Macbook Air (with a retina display), the processor heatsink does not touch (intersect) with the cooler. The task of the cooler in this case is to drive air around the entire case, and not to dissipate the heat of the hot elements of the board (including the processor). Hence the high temperatures of the processor.
A fee for a thin laptop. In the new firmware, this idea was finally abandoned and normal cooling was made.
This is Apple. For the sake of marketing, they will do any nonsense. I can advise you to buy a stand under the laptop so that the heat dissipates faster.
The working temp for this processor is just 80-90, so don't worry.
It will not burn itself, it will turn off earlier and notify about overheating.
There are holes for air to come out, but the cooler is standing, and the air is blown out. In pre models, the holes were at the very bottom of the screen, very small.
If you think it's a marriage - contact the warranty, just in case ...
Are you sure that your program correctly displays the temperature?
