Why does the keyboard behave like this?

Keyboard BiFriend GK5 behaves strangely. When connected to a PC, it works, but when connected to a laptop, one letter key does not work. What could be the problem, hint in which direction to dig? Moreover, on a laptop, this key starts working only when the white backlight is turned on, and then it works every other time.

Current strength.
Try sticking it through a USB hub with a separate external power supply.
