Why does the H-BRIDGE heat up and burn out?
Good time of the day!!!
Faced such a problem, the N-BRIDGE L298N heats up unrealistically and often burns out ... the maximum load on each arm is 1.5 A (although the datasheet is designed for 4A)
- maybe something was connected incorrectly at the bridge input (mixed up the wires)?
- if everything is correct, maybe it makes sense to leave one arm unused or is it better to connect one motor to both arms at once? if so, how to properly connect something that would not close (because I already burned a couple of bridges) ?!

- the maximum load depends on the voltage that you switch, it is possible that the transistors inside cannot deliver such a current with your power supply. If, as in the datasheet - 50 Volts, then xs.
- it heats up because you draw 3A from it in total, you need a radiator, it can also heat up due to the high switching frequency (transistors do not have time to open / close)
- everything seems to be normal at the input.
- to connect one motor to two channels, you just need to connect them accordingly:
2-13, 3-14 - these will be the outputs.
5-10, 7-12 - this is the choice of the direction of rotation of the engines
6-11 - this is for PWM
