Why does the game crash when reaching 5GB of video memory?

I recently bought a new laptop based on the GTX 1660ti Mobile graphics card. At first everything worked flawlessly, but now there is one problem. In Final fantasy 15, when loading video memory over ≈5200MB, the game crashes. I checked the video memory load using msi afterburner. I downloaded all kinds of utilities, checked in Windows, everywhere the amount of video memory is ≈6GB. But I also checked the memory using msi combustor and there is a maximum load of 5317mb, although the total is 6144mb. I also noticed similar crashes related to memory in other games. Is it possible to somehow solve this problem programmatically, or is it still a hardware flaw and the laptop can be considered defective?

This is either a hardware defect, or the driver for the video card is not finished, or the game is just crookedly made (or perhaps a pirate / crooked repack) - if the game needs more video memory than the video card has, an additional part of the RAM is reserved and nothing crashes / does not break / does not turns off, just the FPS will drop and jamming may appear. Install the latest drivers for the video card, they may have already fixed this.
Regarding 6GB of video memory, they are on paper as much and in advertising, in reality it is possible much less, do not pay attention, this is normal. One has only to remember the GTX 970 with its real 3.5 GB instead of 4 GB.

Again, the answer is in the comments to the comment.
There is no need to touch the swap file - you have modern hardware.
