Why does the Failed to create provisioning profile error occur (and why did it disappear)?

I created the first Swift application for iOS, added an account, wrote a Bundle, chose a team (your account) - the error did not disappear. When I connected my device to the poppy and built the application on it, the error disappeared. But the question is - why didn't it appear back when I chose not my iPhone, but the XCode simulator?

because provisioned starts generating after adding at least one device UDID, when you connected your iPhone Xcode automatically added it to your account and created a provisioned profile. The same can be achieved manually by adding the device UDID to the developer account.

Because to run on the simulator you do not need provisioning.
