Why does the built-in Card Reader see SD cards only after a reboot?
I got an ASUS UL30A laptop with a problem of reading SD cards in the built-in card reader.
In short, the SD card itself is determined ONLY only after the laptop is rebooted and at the same time it is in the slot. Further manipulations with it, somehow: pulling it out and inserting it, do not lead to anything. In the explorer, when accessing the disk, writes about the absence of media. In addition to the reboot described above, disabling and enabling the device "Alcor Micro USB 2.0 Card Reader" in the Device Manager helps. In short, it seems that the card reader does not respond to the insertion of the card (the explorer confirms the removal of the card by resetting the disk icon). And yes, I tried with all supported and unsupported Windows. Drivers for all operating systems were taken from the manufacturer's website.
