Why does the battery of a modern phone with IP68 not self-discharge through a usb connector in water?

* I'm talking about a modern smartphone with a secure connector without a plug, i.e. metal contacts are also in water when immersed in the phone.

I'm not sure, but I suspect that there is no voltage at the connector without charging. and even if there is such a tiny leak that you need to keep it in the water for a month to notice.
