Why does ssh hang?

At my house, ssh connections keep constantly (maybe a day or more). But at work, the Kyivstar cable provider, I know exactly what restrictions they impose, but in iTerm the console freezes and nothing can be done with it, except to close it. This is very inconvenient, every half an hour they connect again, still because I have different tabs marked with different colors.
What can be done about a frozen terminal other than closing it?

run in a separate console. Mtr will show the percentage of lost packets. If this percentage increases - you have a connection break, if it decreases - everything is ok. If it is always zero - everything is fine with you))
If the percentage of losses is high - change the provider.

Try to specify in the settings of your program to force the packets to be sent when idle every time interval. I don’t know how to specify it in iTerm, but this is how it is indicated for Putty prntscr.com/eott9x
I once helped with a similar problem.
