Why does printing on the terminal server periodically fall off?
Good afternoon!
In the Internet, I found a problem similar to my own, but there were practically no solutions. I decided to slightly change the text and raise the topic on Habré.
There is a server with Server 2012 Standart R2. There are several PCs (OS: from Win7 to Win10) that connect to the server in terminal mode to work in 1C 8.3. Each of the PCs has its own printer connected via usb or a shared printer is connected.
To print from 1C on the server, each user has their own shared printer. The printers on the server were not added manually for each user, but were added automatically by forwarding (mstsc.exe-> Local Resources-> Local devices and resources-> Printers=yes) both by PC name and ip-address.
The driver itself is installed on the server.
The problems are that periodically (somewhere once or twice a week), one or the other stops printing. I check through the Control Panel->Printers and Devices and see that the printer is not available (there is an icon, but gray). Next, I switch to the client itself and also check through the Control Panel->Printers and Devices and see that the printer is available and prints.
The problem is solved by exiting the terminal session and reconnecting to the terminal server. It happens that after that it works for a couple of days, and sometimes it works for a couple of hours.
I found an article about TS EasyPrint but haven't checked it yet.
P.S. (TS Easy Print technology is an alternative to the standard print service, it first appeared in Windows Server 2008R2. Thanks to this technology, the speed is significantly increased, and most importantly, the stability and fault tolerance of the print subsystem, including on terminal servers.)
Who faced such a problem and what to does it have a solution?
