Why does PhpStorm crash when indexing?

Recently, PhpStorm 2016.2 has started throwing out such a trick: when it starts, files are indexed for a very long time, while the progress slider does not move. After that, Storm just crashes. Silently, without any windows of errors.
Who knows how to deal with it?

I found many similar reports, but nothing specific. Usually the error is due to lack of memory. Create a new report and follow it, maybe they will tell you what the problem is.
