Why does my PC take a long time to turn off?

I noticed that the PC is turning off for a long time. I would not say that it is old (Intel Q8400 4 cores, 4 GB of RAM), it was Windows 8.1. About 2 weeks ago I reinstalled the system (on the same Windows 8.1), a minimum of programs is installed, drivers for all devices are installed. After completion of work, the display still works for 10-15 minutes, then it turns off and after another 30-50 seconds the PC only turns off completely. When I noticed this for the first time, I can’t say (6-8 months for sure), but it was before the system was reinstalled and after it remained, there is no update at this moment. What can be wrong?

Try:
1) reduce the size of the paging file or disable it;
2) try to diagnose the hard drive;
3) use an SSD drive.

you need to see if there is disk activity at the time of shutdown (there should be an indicator on the face), if the disk is furiously doing something, then love_energy is most likely right, you need to try disabling the swap file and check the hard drive, you also need to check by opening CMD and running the shutdown / s / command t 0 if it shuts down normally or faster than usual, then the computer probably goes into sleep or hibernation mode instead of shutting down (very similar).
