Why does my computer slow down after merging hard disk partitions?
On the computer, the "C" drive eventually clogged up. In order not to suffer with the reinstallation of the system, I decided to simply expand the "C" section with the empty "D" section. To do this, I loaded from a bootable flash drive and launched Acronis Disk Director, after which I merged the "D" and "C" partitions. The operation was completed successfully, Windows booted up, but the computer began to slow down. I looked - RAM from 2GB is occupied by 1.9GB. Can you tell me what could be the problem and what are the solutions? (DDR3, win x32)

Yan suggested that we need to turn off the defragmenter. After turning it off and restarting the machine, performance returned to normal. Thank you!
