Why does my computer freeze completely?

Computer freezes and nothing works. The sound freezes tightly and duplicates one gap. This has happened already 3 times in 3 different programs; the only thing that works is the shutdown button on the computer.

Windows 10

1) Problems with drivers. It was similar after installing Chinese drivers for flashing devices. Utilities for resetting drivers ( resetHardware ) and reinstalling will help (here or from offsite download or use something like driverPack )
2) Problems with RAM. Check the computer to work with one memory stick. Try putting it in different slots. Test the memory with memtest
3) Overheating. Monitor temperatures. A bunch of programs, from CPUid to AIDA64
4) Problem with motherboard and/or power supply. Check for swollen capacitors, search on rom.by by the name of the board - perhaps this is a common problem with a particular board

Usually such sudden dead freezes occur when there is a problem with the hard drive. The system cannot write or read anything, and everything goes into timeout. Timeouts are layered on top of each other, we get a dead hang.
In other answers, they wrote about other problems - they don’t look like them, because with problems with RAM, the computer usually suddenly restarts or programs fall separately, with problems with overheating, the computer turns off and turns on only after a while, with problems with drivers, you usually get a blue screen and reboot.

Microsoft is hinting that it's time to replace outdated hardware and pay for all licenses.

It also happened a couple of times, but I have a laptop. I figured out this problem due to a dead battery in the laptop itself. Windows 7 system.
