Why does Linux Mint have different fonts?

1. Why are there different fonts in Linux Mint, for example, in the Google Chrome browser (compared to Windows 10)?
2. Can I change the fonts by downloading additional ones, or by installing another distribution?

1. Because the standard font sets are different. This is inevitable due to licenses.
2. Of course, you can install additional fonts. You just need to find the ones you need. Changing the distribution kit is somehow very radical, you will still install fonts :)
There is also a difference in rendering. The same font on Linux and Windows may look slightly different and you are unlikely to influence this.
