Why does Ctrl+D in Sublime 3 only work on two occurrences of a string?

Hello!
In Sublime 3 on Windows, I press Ctrl+D to edit a repeated word without using find and replace. I start writing, but only two lines out of 8 change. What am I doing wrong?

Ctrl+D just selects all words. To edit, press Alt+F3.
