The same trouble with the letter C and n in the word "Methods", replaced it with Latin and got better.
Also in other combinations everything is ok.
Working in conjunction with WordPress + WP Google Fonts plugin

I would like to know if the author solved the problem.
I have a similar situation in Firefox and Inkscape. Everything is fine in Webkit.
System - Arch Linux. The font is taken from the ttf-google-fonts-hg package.

The problem is in CSS, namely with text-rendering: optimizelegibility.
If you are using bootstrap then it has a style by default.
h1, h2, h3....... {
...
text-rendering: optimizelegibility;
....
}
Fix by setting to auto.
