Why does Asus X79-DELUXE incorrectly detect CPU temperature?

At the start, you can see 96 degrees and the mother is blocking the download. I checked the temperature with an infrared thermometer, it is wrong.
Loading is possible only if you ignore the temperature (a separate setting item), after loading any software in the OS shows the actual temperature.

I heard that in many processors such a problem as the failure of the temperature sensor sometimes manifested itself. I'm not sure about this, but maybe this is your case. Whether this is true or not, I cannot say.
