Why does Asus m5a97 le r2.0 not see all the RAM?
It costs 8 GB for 4 dice (1 dice \u003d 2 GB)
BIOS and the system does not see all the memory - and if in the BIOS it was possible at least once to see all the memory by the method of re-plugging and resetting the settings, then Windows stubbornly reserves a certain amount of memory - from 2 to 6 GB.
The BIOS is the latest, msconfig with a checkbox for "Maximum RAM" tried all scenarios, shoveled all the RAM settings.
The video is external, the priority is set to it, not the integrated one.
OS-Win10 x64.

If the video card is built-in, then this may be the memory reserved for video.
> Video is external, priority is set to it, not integrated.
given that the video can now work both built-in and external at the same time or switch right on the go .... then this is not an argument.
> Windows stubbornly reserves a certain amount of memory, from 2 to 6 GB.
whence the conclusion that Windows reserves?
Screenshots from the system (task manager, computer properties) and a screenshot from AIDA64 or any other diagnostic utility would help.
It is also possible that some memory slots are stupidly inoperative in the motherboard (it is checked by leaving one memory bar and poke into each slot in a row)
Maybe your bus does not support 8 GB. Because of this and because of the peretyki can not see everything.
I also have a laptop, had the same problem. I put myself 8 GB in 2 slots (2 by 4) and the computer yelled that everything is ok in one slot, but in the 2nd "unidentified device".
I wish you good luck with your asus.
