In your query, food is treated as the subject of the query, not the translation you are looking for for the word. You can also correct your request properly. For example, changing it to translate food to deutsch or food in deutsch. You didn't formulate the request correctly and got the wrong answer) Why do you need these extra clarifications from which language do you need to translate? You already wrote the word food, Google knows what language it is.
