Why do we need dislikes in Google Play reviews?
I am a developer, and, accordingly, people put dislikes on some reviews. A lot of them have accumulated on one review, but they don’t delete it (to be honest, I don’t really like it either :D). Why are they needed then? Other users do not see them, and dislikes are neither hot nor cold for me.

Firstly, these are not likes and dislikes, but answers to the question "was this comment helpful", yes or no.
Secondly, when Google play determines which comments to show first in the top positive and negative comments, it relies on this (probably not only on this).
Thirdly, the developer, in principle, can also pay attention to those comments that received more support, and vice versa, in order to understand what users really care about. Naturally, it is up to you whether you do so.
We need dislikes, of course, to show that the review can be dishonest, cheated, and so on. Although the mechanism is controversial, I agree. In fact, reviews are needed, especially high-quality ones. This is a kind of consumer culture, which obviously needs to be improved so that by going to a feedback page or a forum you can really get a recommendation, where everything is clearly described and so on. For example, I learned to write reviews, including customized or personal ones, that I wanted to leave so that they were informative. I read such a source of information on this case. You need to learn how to write a good and informative review, and just then we managed to find almost step-by-step instructions on what is important to consider when leaving a review. Then it will be difficult to catch dislikes =)
