Why do photos in Photoshop become lighter than when viewed in a browser or simply viewed on a monitor?

This was not the case before. I reinstalled Windows and installed the latest photoshop. And I noticed that the photos that I drag into Photoshop become lighter. Those. if you look in the browser or just run it in the Windows viewer, then the photos are contrasting. As soon as I drag them into Photoshop, they lighten up. Not much, but noticeable. What could be the matter, I don’t understand the intricacies of Photoshop, help.
