Why do number glyphs in fonts jump vertically?
Here's what it's about:

I always thought it was a conversion artifact, or a jamb of the alignment algorithm in programs, but after a little surfing on the internet I found that the original font is the same:

Is this some kind of fashionable design decision, an artifact, or all together?

I have seen a couple of fonts with the same spelling of numbers.
So this is a fashionable stylish and youth solution.
