Why do not all services start after updating Ubuntu?

Updated on Ubuntu server from 11.04 to 12.10. Immediately after the first reboot (i.e. still on version 11.10), some services did not start. They did not start on 12.10 either. Manually with the service command, they start normally, when the system boots up, nothing.
More specifically, these are the services: nginx, mysql, php5-fpm, redis-server, exim4, django. Those. anything that doesn't come with the system by default.
For each of them I ran update-rc.d defaults && update-rc.d enable
All of them are in /etc/init.d/.
What else can you see?

I met this glitch on Debian too, deleting and re-adding to autoload helped

I can recommend the sysv-rc-conf program, pleasant to the touch, which will pleasantly surprise you.
