Why do my eyes hurt behind a new IPS monitor?
I bought a new DELL S2415H with IPS, before that I worked on a tn 15.6 '' laptop. I immediately noticed that there were headaches (a feeling of pressure in the area above the right eye) and a slight burning sensation (toward evening). There was nothing like that on the laptop.
Already played around with all the settings. I set different brightness, contrast (both low, and high / low, low / high, etc.), in general, while the situation does not change. The video card supports max 60Hz.
Maybe I'm not used to such a TV on the contrary and the reason may be this, but I doubt it. Because it is further away from me than the laptop was.
Tell me what to pay attention to? Vision is not the best (-1.75).

The first is to carry out a pencil test - ammo1.livejournal.com/418344.html
The second is to try 100% brightness and bring the contrast to a comfortable level (maybe 0%).
Third - reduce the brightness of the picture and disable all enhancers (auto-brightness, auto-contrast, etc.).
Fourth - there is always a moment of "adaptation" to a new monitor.
I took mine 100% without flickering and "wet rag" effects, but there was still a moment of getting used to (discomfort).
1. You need a CCFL backlit monitor. They are not available in the store. Search on Avito. I took a Benq 27 - everything is super, nothing hurts.
2. Set your monitor settings to warm colors. It will turn yellow, but figs with him, you'll get used to it. Or the program flux.
3. At minimum brightness, PWM flicker appears on LED displays, which strains the brain and eyes. Exception - macbook pro 2011-2012 is not Retina.
4. LED backlight has unnatural light, wrong spectrum. The eye does not understand this light and does not correctly adjust the diameter of the pupil, which is why it hurts.
In general, all modern monitors - in the trash.
