Why do movies look better on a TV than on a monitor (even an expensive one)?

Not sure if this is a toaster question and not [email protected]
But when watching TV series/movies/youtube through a flash drive on a TV (from 480p to 1080p), the picture is very high quality (saturated, bright, no pixels or ripples are visible at all), and on the monitor it is, to put it more simply, "normal", outside depending on quality. Monitor Dell P2314T, TV LG 42' 1080p 200 hertz (I don't remember the model).
Thank you.

"saturated, bright"
the same technology is available for modern video cards (nvidia 2xx and higher, amd 5xxx and higher, intel hd 3xxx), it is enabled in the driver properties - video playback settings.
www.pcworld.com/article/2026179/the-ultimate-guide... (digital vibrance) be
warned, this distorts the colors displayed by the monitor.
if your monitor is connected via hdmi, then it may not display the entire range
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A6%D0%B2%D0%B5%D...
https://pcmonitors. info/articles/correcting-hdmi-c...
and maybe the monitor uses a different gamma value than the OS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzjf_FUBs4c- this is not a real calibration, it just allows you to partially correct the consequences of a mismatch between the windows gamma and the monitor settings (not all monitors can be adjusted).
when you change the brightness of the monitor, you will have to readjust the gamma correction.
if you need a player with image "improvers" - splash pro, it also has a frame interpolator, allows you to "increase" the video frame rate to 60, a 4-thread / core processor is desirable if you want to use the interpolator for 1080p video (enabled by a checkmark in the settings).
amd radeon 7xxx and newer also has an interpolator - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2CSSuW2Wac
about nvidia - I don't remember, I set it up a long time ago.
there are other players - https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Main_Page/ru forum.ixbt.com/topic.cgi?id=60:2988
"pixels are not visible"
the reason is the distance from which you look at the screen - the greater the dpi of the screen, the closer you can get and pixels will not be visible.
you can see the same effect on mobile phones - for example, with a resolution of 1920x1080 on a screen diagonal of 5.5 inches, a pixel density of 400 ppi (pixels per inch) is obtained, you can rest your nose on the screen, but the pixels will not be visible.
your monitor has 95.78 ppi
, the TV has 52.45 ppi - but you look at it from a couple of meters, sit down like a monitor and see.
"ripples what"
image improvement: more aggressive h264 deblocking + frame rate increase (interpolation).
if you want to watch without enhancers, connect your computer via hdmi (do not forget to select the output of the entire range of colors - 4:4:4), and in the input type settings, select game or pc mode, all enhancers will be disabled.
and more about the ripples - did you accidentally connect the monitor via vga?
