Why do lines disappear in After Effects CC 2019 when painting with a brush on a layer?

Hello. I have Adobe After Effects CC 2019 installed. I wanted to paint with a brush on a layer. The problem is that when I select the desired layer and draw a line, this very line is visible, but as soon as I release the left mouse button, this line disappears, when I draw the next one, all previous lines are shown. It seems that all drawn lines are displayed only at the moment when I actively draw the next line. You can also see the same lines in the video composition window. There they are displayed as they should. How can I fix this problem so that I can see all the lines in the layer edit window?
PS I reinstalled the same version of the program (from the same installer) - it didn't help...
