Why do archivers copy files to drive C when extracting files?
Actually there is a 18 GB zip archive. For some reason, 8 GB is free on the C drive.
I tried extracting files using Bandizip and 7-zip - both first extract the files to the Temp folder on drive C, and only then copy them to the specified folder.
Why is that? Why do I need an intermediary in the form of a Temp folder on drive C?
Are there any archivers that extract files directly to a specified folder?
All of the above is happening on Windows 10.
