Why did WhatsApp stop working after December 12 and how to restore it?

Dear friends, we urgently need help because WhatsApp has stopped working!
Background.
By occupation, I constantly use WhatsApp on my smartphone. For the past few months, whatsapp has been offering me an update. But when I try to install the update, I get a message:
"This application is not yet available in the current region."
This didn't really bother me, because despite the lack of updates, WhatsApp functioned perfectly. But yesterday, December 12, when I tried to log in to WhatsApp, I received a message stating that since December 12, 2020, the old version is no longer working and I was asked to install a new one. No help : the message appears again:
"This application is not yet available in the current region."
This was doubly strange, since I had not changed the region since the initial installation of WhatsApp on my smartphone.
Then I completely deleted WhatsApp from my smartphone and tried to install it from scratch. No help : the message appears again:
"This application is not yet available in the current region."
Question:
How can I restore (more precisely, now reinstall) WhatsApp on a smartphone?
Add. Information:
Smartphone brand: HUAWEI

Last point. Both they and I suggest downloading the apk file and installing it bypassing it
. In addition, you can try installing WA business

0) Check for viruses.
1) Remove residual files. You can use the CCleaner program or manually through the explorer (use the search) and delete all folders containing the name whatsapp. Then try to install again.
2) Change the region and try again. It works great for me.
3) Try to install via VPN to be sure that it's not the provider.
4) Download the previous version from third-party sites (be careful, there may be malware, see people's reviews)
5) Use WhatsApp Web
6) If you really need it, you can reset the phone and install it on a clean smartphone. (carefully, when resetting, it will ask for your account login and password, make sure to remember your email login and password)

THANK YOU!!! HELPED!!!
I'm telling.
Changing the location did not help (even after rebooting the smartphone). But WhatsApp Web helped: everything worked!
Once again a HUGE THANK YOU!
