Why did the monitor flicker after pulling out the power?

I accidentally unplugged the monitor. Turned it back on and saw a strong flicker on the screen, as if the refresh rate was not 60Hz as set in the settings, but 30-40. Sometimes it stops for a while. The cable is firmly inserted. What can be wrong?

You didn't even describe which monitor. Try changing the frequency through the settings.
