Why did the computer stop starting?

There was a following problem: the
computer ceased to be started. When you click on Start, all the coolers are spinning, but nothing else happens. The monitor does not respond (just an orange light is on). The speaker does not give any signals.
Tried to pull out all the components. Tried to replace with others that work exactly. Zero reactions. When examining the motherboard, no swelling, no oxidation was noticed.
What can be done?

I had a board, some kind of old ASUS, with exactly the same symptoms.
There were no codes on the POST card.
If the power supply is working, then you need to diagnose - look at the voltage with a multimeter to start.
Maybe one of the mosfets is broken or the chipset "fell off" or there is a problem with the bios.
If there is a POST card, insert it and see what code it stops at.
If you want to "poke" yourself with a multimeter, try google "VENDOR MODEL voltage on the board".

There was such a problem due to a bent leg on the processor slot, it seems like the system starts, turns the coolers and not hello. I didn’t figure it out right away, I took it to the SC, the motherboard was new right out of the box, I decided not to go into it myself. A comrade in front of me corrected the leg in 1 minute, set the percent and it all worked. Arm yourself with a good magnifying glass and look for bent / thermal paste filled / shabby legs, this may be the reason.

Still such symptoms occur in the absence of processor power (these are additional, usually 4-pin connectors). Check if it may have fallen off due to the fact that it was poorly fixed or the power supply died.

Check if the speaker is connected. Take out only the RAM and try to turn it on. If a squeak appears, there is a problem with the video card / south bridge, sometimes the RAM slot, or the RAM itself is to blame (i.e. the RAM / slot is out of order, but there is still no squeak when the memory is inserted). If there is no squeak, the problem is with the processor / processor power. In this case, carefully inspect the socket and the power circuits next to it. Of course, there may be more options, but you can quickly identify the problem area like this.

When you click on Start, all the coolers are spinning, but nothing else happens.
Because the fans are powered by 12V circuits, and all microelectronics are 5V (with which you have a problem).
All of the above is correct.
But I had an exotic case (and more than once): the PSU has overload protection for each circuit and after it tripped, it did not reset itself - at best, I had to press RESET several times, then POWER or leave the PSU for several hours at idle ( PSU turns off completely, closes green and black on the connector).
Mind you, this is just another possible tambourine dance.
