Why did my MacBook Pro Retina 2013 freeze?

RMBP 2013, core i5, 4gb ram. Hangs tightly without reacting to anything. Launched: browser, translator, microsoft office excel, etc. on the little things. It recently hung for 4 minutes, rebooted forcibly.
What's the matter, how to treat? Free 30GB.

RAM. It is not enough)
Still remember what you set. It may be that some driver or some oblique program hangs the system

When you turn it on, hold down D and run various diagnostics

perhaps a memory leak, some process loads the nonpaged pool to the limit and the PC hangs, due to lack of RAM, it is worth monitoring the RAM consumption.

4 GB of RAM is very little, not to mention the fact that it is all the more small for a beech with a retina. I don’t know why Apple released it at all, and then in the next. The update removed this modification. Apparently, they really believed in OS X Mavericks, which in turn carefully handled the RAM (with Yosemite differently). In fact, 8 GB is close, 16 GB is best.
