Why can't visitors see my youtube channel's subscriber counter?

I went to the channel settings, additional features, status and functions, additionally, then the number of subscribers, checked the box opposite: "Show the number of subscribers of my channel" and saved the changes by clicking the button at the bottom of the page: "Save". But the counter is not visible to channel visitors, please tell me what is the reason?
