How to disable AV1 video codec in Chrome?

My laptop's graphics card (intel plug) has a VP9 hardware decoder up to 2160p60, but no AV1 hardware decoder. At the same time, youtube began to massively broadcast in AV1, so far only 1080p content.

I must say right away that I tried a couple of methods that were described on the web a year or two ago - it did not work for me. I think the reason is in the newer version of Chrome.

Decoding by processor cores significantly increases the power consumption of the laptop (in my case, from 5-6W to 8-9W for 1080p60), i.e. a drop in battery life when watching youtube by 1.5 times. In general, for this reason, I now mainly use firefox (I disabled av1 there), but I still use chrome sometimes.

Can I fix it, or continue to use the fox?
