Why can't the computer turn on?

Good afternoon. The problem is this.
I flashed the bios on the computer (to a newer version). Everything went well. But there was one bug. When you turn on the bios, the CPU starts to get very hot. The cooler could not cope and as a result the computer was cut down. I rolled back, but after the reboot, the computer stupidly did not turn on. Black screen. My first and only idea was that the BIOS was badly flashed (because it didn’t even turn on. The computer hung at the stage of turning on the BIOS). I flashed the bios with the programmer for the version I needed. Did not help. Then I just disassembled the computer and put it back together. And lo and behold, he just turned on. A week went by and it stopped working again. I thought the operative had died (similar symptoms), but no. Where else can you dig?

guys. After a little experimentation, we managed to find out the following. There are 2 pci slots on the motherboard. and one of them, in which the vidyuha was connected, was dead. because After connecting to the second slot, everything took off. but why did the slot suddenly die? before the shutdown, he lived in peace.

Replace the thermal paste, and you don't need a lot of it, a pea-sized drop is enough. If you turn off the computer, but there is current flowing to the power supply, then you have a problem with the power supply (maybe the conder is swollen).

Check parts individually. Something that does not work stably sooner or later will die, which may have happened.
