Why can't I resize an NTFS partition?
There is a 200GB NTFS partition and a bunch of unallocated space of 250+GB or so. I want to expand that section, but the utilities just don't want to do it. Neither gparted nor Windows built-in. I suspect that you can demolish the partition and create a new one, but I want to leave this method for later, because there is a lot of data there, and there really is nowhere to backup it.
I understand that there is not much information at all. Tell me what tests to conduct, I will do.

of Alkid DVD
hirens boot cd lexapass + additional acronis
I understand that the "windows built-in" is "Management" - "Disk Management" - "Expand volume"? I'm not sure, but it seems to me that the free space should be adjacent to the expandable volume.
