Why can a DVD drive detect an inserted disc after a very long time?

I insert the disc into the drive, close the tray, the drive turns on the light, rustles and calms down. You can wake up in a couple of minutes, maybe after 15, or maybe you won’t wake up at all until you pull it out and insert it again. Sometimes you have to poke like that five times. It's definitely not the discs, they are new, with a clean surface and play well in beech. But after the drive comes to life and spins the disk, all problems disappear, everything is read and written at high speed. The logs are perfectly clean. Problem device - Optiarc DVD RW AD-5260S SCSI.

Maybe the lens just got dusty or he just got old. It makes sense to disassemble to clean completely and lubricate where necessary.
