Why are telephone conversations not being recorded?

There is a sprecord a2 device. The drivers are installed, the device is visible in the program interface. Status - monitoring the line. In the logs - line testing failed.
If you press the "listen" button on the line, there are soft clicks, but the conversation is not heard from the recorder (I just don't know if it should be heard at all).

And if you connect a telephone to the line, pick up the receiver and at that time they are listening to the line - is there a dial tone? If not, then the device itself is faulty.
