Why are some sites not blocked via hosts and how to solve it?
Perhaps a banal way, but still.
In order to less stick to some sites and not waste extra time in vain, I decided to put them in hosts (127.0.0.1 vk.com - as an example). So, some sites do not want to be blocked and open quietly, among them twitch and instagram - but I have enough time to eat. How can I block them without downloading unnecessary software?
And yet - I think blocking in the router is not an option, because I want to get rid of them, but what did the other inhabitants of the wifi point (family, friends) do wrong, since I will deprive them of access. I do not consider this option.

fine #ping vk.com
PING vk.com (127.0.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from vk.com (127.0.0.1): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.037 ms
64 bytes from vk.com (127.0.0.1): icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.045 ms
echo "www.instagram.com 127.0.0.1" >> /etc/hosts
ping www.instagram.com
PING www.instagram.com (127.0.0.1): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl= 64 time=0.053 ms
64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.243 ms
The fact is that large sites use many servers to process requests, and when you block one IP address, then when you access the domain name and cannot load, the system receives a different IP and you enter the site. In order to block such networks, it is necessary to use a proxy and filter traffic.
