Why are Intel's previous generation processors more expensive than the latest? Why does the benchmark not affect the price?

We won't go far: why the hell is the i5 6500 more expensive than the i5 8400??? The prices for today, from shops strongly do not depend.

The Passmark website lists prices at the time of release: 336 bucks for a skylake vs. 200 bucks for a coffee - can this somehow be an answer to the Ryzens? Pay attention to the bench in a single thread: the advantage of the coffee pot is undeniable. Just don’t raise a srach about “prots don’t measure with a bench” - I’m aware, but we need to compare at least by numbers, in real life we already understand everything. And yes: a 1600X pebble now costs 11,000 rubles in the DNS (you can find it for 9,300 on Ali and 10,000 in other stores) and gives 13200 benchmarks, which is more than 8400 (with a margin). Ah, well, yes, Ryzen does not have integrated graphics ..... And Intel overtakes Amude in toys by 65% of transistors for CPU cores (~ 35% for graphics) in toys, so it costs more (maybe).
And for dessert: why does 4770 on alik cost about 12,000 rubles, while 1600X in a Russian store costs about 10,000? The difference in the benchmark is 30% in favor of red. Is there something I still don't understand? Yes, a single thread is faster in the seven, but, for example, on 1060 video, the difference will not be noticeable. And here, let's say, in the premiere....

Let's just not bring up the sore subject bench/price RX 570 vs 1050, that's enough for today.
And finally: yes, I filmed it (not fsh, probably October 2018).

The price, Vadik Serebryansky , is influenced by supply and demand. Here you are, Vadik Serebryansky , presenting your demand for the processor, thereby creating pressure on the market, pushing the price up. Just a little, not very noticeable, but still. Because you, Vadik Serebryansky , are the buyer.
And who is Bench? Nobody, and there is no way to call him. That's why it doesn't affect.

When you ask sellers a direct question on this topic, they usually answer like this.
The production of old processors has been discontinued, but there is still a demand for them. It is met by limited stocks. Since the quantity is limited, the product goes into the category of rarities. The rarer the item, the higher the price.
Here is such a chain.
