Good day to all. It looks like everything is going to the fact that I will have to look for a new job. There are cool projects in the portfolio, I worked in large companies, I know administration, programming, I have experience in managing people and architectural design. And it so happened that I do not know how to position myself in the market. Therefore, there is an idea to use career consultants, but I'm afraid that these are just another birds that will take money and that's it.
So, has anyone used their services, have they been helpful?

normal recruiters (including agencies) receive money from the employer, not applicants.
if they ask you for money, they are gypsies.
By the way, in almost all pain-less serious offices, there are such consultants in the state.

Indicate the desired salary level and apply to all vacancies that fit your profile at least a little. And in the process of passing interviews, you will already understand what is yours and what is not.

As for career counselors, I can't say anything. I think they are more like psychologists work. Talk, calm, motivate, help determine the vector of development. Probably more such a service is suitable for students and for those people who decide to change their specialty completely.

I myself wrote the first few times and started the mailing list, to be honest, with 20 resumes sent - 2 interviews, and even then not for the most interesting positions.
