Who owns the content of the channel in Telegram?

Vasya and Petya run Telegram channels. Vasya is anonymous , but Petya writes that he is the author . Some publication comes and copies the messages of Vasya and Petya and puts them up on their website.
Question 1: is it possible for a publication to do this if it provides a link to the original?
Question 2: Can Petya and Vasya sue the publication?
The fact is that the channel seems to be not the media, and not a website, and you don’t understand what at all, but it distributes information. Hence the question.

Again this myth about the fact that indicating the sources changes something in the general case ...
If the authors did not indicate the license, only the facts contained in this information can be used. For example, this is news about a sports tournament, you can’t reprint it, you can quote the fact that the tournament was won by such and such.
It also does not matter at all whether the source is a mass medium.
The anonymity of the author creates a problem for identifying the right holder (author), but does not make the information freely distributed or in the public domain.

1) since Telegram is a proprietary tool, you need to carefully study the license agreement on the account of what is there and to whom it belongs.
2) since telegram operates outside Russian jurisdiction, in the future it will be extremely difficult for you to prove your rights to this content,
so I would advise you to duplicate it in something more legal at the same time as publishing it in telegram.

If Vasya or Petya publish works of science, literature and art, or their derivatives (translations, adaptations, annotations, abstracts, summaries, reviews, dramatizations, arrangements, etc.), then they are subject to copyright.
In the event of a trial, Vasya and Petya will need their messages to belong to one of these categories, otherwise anyone can copy without problems.
News is not protected by copyright. For example, "our power was turned off" or "Putin became president", I published this news. Now no one can write about it?
Although if the news is like a short story or review, and the publication copies without changes, then you can sue. True, you still need to prove authorship.
