Who makes backups?
Hello everyone, tell me who, how and what makes backups?
tripled here for a part-time job and here is a 3 TB file server and the task is such that it would be backed up every day and there were versions up to two months.
Tell me how and what is the best way to implement it?
I use acronis, but there are jambs with copying on files that were downloaded from the network and acronis does not copy and waits for it to be manually unlocked (in short, not really what you need)

Yes, whatever.
What, let's say, do not suit the standard Windows Server archiving tools?
I usually prefer them, or self-written scripts using shadow copies.
And why back up such files?) I have a Downloads folder in the exceptions, because there such garbage can lie ... even with me, that I don’t need to add it up.
I installed Veeam Endpoint Backup Free, it seems to be the same as Acronis. But he didn’t sit with him for a long time, backups, restores, stores everything in his own format, just like Acronis.
I myself use Acronis, I just do it full time a week and incremental 6, so that the archive opens as quickly as possible, if something needs to be restored urgently. Don't forget about verification.
And so, especially critical things: 1. to a disk inside the server that is not in raid 2. a copy from this disk flies via iscsi to the NAS
Множество разных непересекающихся средств, дающих разные бэкапы разных форматов.
- Самописные скрипты + tar + pbzip2
- Акронис
- Nakivo (бэкап ВМ непосредственно на Synology)
- HPE VM Explorer (бывший Trilead)
Если не снимая образ а только файлы отдельно то я использую urbackup но я не уверен как он будет работать с 3тб и сколько же места надо чтобы иметь актуальную версию за 2 месяца. А если сервер находит на esx и схд то имхо самая удобная Veeam Backup & Replication
