Who made a store on Drupal?

Who made a store on Drupal?
I made a catalog on an ubercard for a long time, but it didn’t reach the store, plans have changed. I’m thinking whether it’s worth it now (there is a customer) to try to make a store on 7 or 8 Drupal with ubercards or something else.
Who did, who can share the experience?
Thanks a lot for the detailed answer!
I think this question is not only of interest to me.
Moreover, please DO NOT offer paid cms, the budget is very limited and no one will spend money on buying a license.

If this is something more complicated than "added to cart, placed an order", then without experience you most likely will not succeed either on Ubercart or on Commerce.

I will agree with andead But if to do that Drupal 7 + Commerce. For 8ki, only alpha, you need to wait until they finish it.

If the budget is so limited, then you should not take Drupal, because without experience it will take you a very long time. Try Prestashop.

I would advise you to consider non-commercial DotPlant2 . It was written specifically for the administration of online stores and has a lot of the necessary functionality for stores (placement of goods in different categories, various output options, assigning labels to goods, “smart search”, etc. It doesn’t cost money and you don’t need to finish anything special will.
