Who has connected an Apple MacBook Air 13 to an external monitor?

Who has connected an Apple MacBook Air 13 to an external monitor? How does he behave? I think to take Air for coding and connect it to a 24-inch monitor.
Processor type Core i5 1.4GHz
Random access memory (RAM) 4 GB
Hard disk drive (SSD) 128 GB
Graphic controller Intel HD Graphics 5000
Diagonal/resolution 13.3"/1440x900 pixels.
Thank you!

I have an Air 13 of 2014 and everything works fine. The monitor can be made both the main one and the second one.

In fact, how can he behave? Normally connected, the monitor becomes the second. There were no problems with the native DVI adapter. Resolution 1680 * 1050 pulls without problems. I speak for my MacBook Air 13 2012. Fresh airs will probably pull 1920 * 1080 without any problems.
