Advise a program for Windows to work with video (cropping, quality improvement, etc.) and for photos. Preferably free and with a nice interface. Thank you!

I can’t tell you from the video, because I don’t remember what I used, maybe even one of the Microsoft products, but not a fact.
Regarding the photo:
Photoshop
Paint.net (there are some functions of Photoshop, for example - working with layers)
Snagit is a wonderful screenshot utility. It also allows you to shoot video from a certain part of the screen, make simple buttons and a lot of things =)
