Toaster

Who are these people on the "invite an expert" list?

Who gets there and how? Does the list show only those who are online?
Another question: I noticed that there are quite a few users on the toaster who have 0 questions, but at the same time +100500 answers. For what purpose do they go to the toaster? Do they enjoy helping others, or do they have some profit from it?

1. People from the top by contribution to the tag.
2. Altruism.
There are also moderators here, they also have a great contribution.

Do they enjoy helping others, or do they have some profit from this?

In general, there are two profits:
1. When you explain something to someone, you yourself understand better, learn to give arguments, links, examples. Along the way, learn something new about your own or someone else's instruments. This helps to keep yourself in good shape (and helps beginners develop), especially if the current work is mostly routine and does not require brainwashing.
2. For understanding employers, such a profile is a plus sign in a resume, confirming that a person knows something, and does not just say that he knows.
