Which usb hdd to choose for backups (via TM on Mac)?

Advise option(s) hdd for backups (via TM on Mac), please. Capacity - 2tb. USB connection (regular or C).
Now there are so many things - eyes run wide, but I would like adequate speed, reliability and cost. My experience is not enough, so please advise.

I would like adequate speed, reliability and cost.

And all this - tadam! - You will not find it in external drives.

The speed is the same for everyone if you take hdd and usb3, there are no options like there
Reliability is the last thing, there is a guarantee for this, there is one more backup if we talk about reliability.
You can see the price

speed + reliability:
Thunderbolt (or Type-C NVMe) case + NVMe SSD - not afraid of shock, gig per second speed. A two-terabyte SSD, you yourself understand how much it will cost ...
2.5 "HDD for such a capacity is an unreliable thing, plus it is probably slow due to SMR technology. Maximum terabyte, and then you need to look so that the cache is no more than 64, and plump. The speed is around 100 MB/sec
A 3.5" HDD is already a little better - a two-terabyte drive from Toshiba will be quite ok, and not so expensive, and quite reliable, but cumbersome and still slow, say, under 150-200 MB / s. But here I already recommend building a NAS and RAID - a network 4 terabyte file washer, with redundancy - much more convenient than a simple backup, plus less chance of falling off the table and other damage. And the right RAID will save you from losing one of the disks
